Make Curtains the Wow Factor in Your Room
One way to bring in a real decorative feature to a space is through the use of colourful curtains. While some choose to put up curtains that blend with the overall design, others make them dominant. It is easy to make curtains fuse with the wall colour, just select fabric in the same tone, but a few shades darker.
However, if you are interested in achieving a wow factor when it comes to the fabric then go bold. This will ensure that they stand out, and make a statement. To tone things down, or to pull it all together, add tiebacks that have a pattern that includes multiple colours found in the room. Or, you can have a seamstress attach piping that copies the colours discovered in a focal rug.
One last thing, if you are going for visual interests, be cognizant of the texture of the fabric of the curtains also. Certain fabrics will invoke certain feelings. For example linen will produce a casual feel, while silk will promote a sophisticated one.
