The Plants that Will Bring the Birds to Your Garden

If you are hoping to bring more lovely birds to your garden, then you will want to fill the space with trees and shrubs that have the berries they crave. However, these will not only make the birds happy, but will also be pleasing to the eye with their beautiful colours, and flowers. So, you are getting two great things that will enhance the area for the effort of one.

The red twig dogwood is best known for its brazen red stems, but also creates pretty white flowers in spring. As for the berries, it grows succulent white ones in summer and fall. The winterberry will attract robins, and mockingbirds with its glorious red berries in autumn. The colour of the fruit is vibrant and will be eagerly devoured by your fine feathered friends.

When planning what to plant, keep in mind that you will want the birds to visit throughout the year, and as such you need berries in all of the months possible. With that will come bursts of colour that are enjoyed by both humans and birds that encounter all that you have placed in your garden.
